Foresight, innovation and design means being open to new perspectives. So the logic needs to integrate different types of information from pragmatic to imaginative to speculative. By doing so, we avoid individual biases, validate, stimulate new thinking, and connect the future even better to the present.

Pragmatic Information: This information is related to the organization’s initial challenge. It has a high level of logical cohesion with the organization (internal) or different parts of society (external). Simply put, pragmatic information facilitates mobilization, communication, and collaboration initiatives. This information also integrates the political perspective (Political Information), which should not dominate, but instead be seen as valuable insights to help execute the project. Pragmatic Information facilitates the creation of the “affective” link between the future and the present context, making the shifts understandable for people.

Imaginative Information: As it is a creative process, Imaginative Information contributes with an inspirational “what if” perspective.
